Abstract Art – It’s Spring!

It’s spring! It isn’t acting much like it, though. When we have better weather, there will be a new batch of abstract paintings. (For Paganite newbies I should mention that all of my large abstract pieces are done – as they must be – outdoors).

So here’s looking forward to a spate of genuine spring weather and the rebirth of abstractism Pagani-style.

About Pagani

The artist of record for this site. Philosopher, theologian, painters, abstract expressionist, cartoonist and caricaturist - I'm old enough to know better and too old to change it.

  1. Beautiful piece, thanks for sharing it!

  2. Verna D'Alto says:

It does look good enough to eat. I’m Italian and love the food you just painted for Spring.
I am still and always will be a fan. Hope we get to meet sometime. But, I guess we already met via the net.
Be well and keep painting. I am almost finished with my web page and will send it as soon as it is published.
    Love and Peace, Verna

  3. Nicely done. I also like your statement, the parts involving neurons. Do not agree on abstract art falling out of favor bit (what do you define as an intellectual elite?)

Yes, abstract art has been in the process of falling out of favor for a while now. This is in part due to an anti-intellectual movement in America (where calling someone an intellectual is considered an insult in some circles), along with a general decline in art literacy. Now, the difference between being intellectual (which I think is GOOD) and being a member of the intellectual elite is this: The elites are the “deciders” of our society: Self appointed or otherwise, they dictate what’s “in,” what is “out,” and what constitutes art. Of course, they have personal tastes, preferences and prejudices just like anyone, and they are acting upon them. But the rest of us are expected to treat the Elites’ personal preferences as objective laws of the universe. At least, that is my opinion. –pagani
