also,you stated as”known fact”that laws predate
the Bible. How can one be so sure that this is fact? Who said it? Why should we believe those
who said it? I do believe That God guides us in
our conscience, that simply proves what Gods
word says in Romans 2:14-15.

Again, the original post here is about how the founding fathers of America did NOT consult the old testament 10 Commandments in formulating our laws. As proven in the post, much of the 10 Commandments are not part of our laws, have NEVER been part of our laws and would be unconstitutional if you tried to make them part of America civil law. Sorry, but it’s true. You’re not going to make it a crime to not attend church on the Sabbath nor will you get to stone people to death for failing to honor their parents. It’s not happening.

No I don’t believe in Joseph Smith. I’m not Mormon. I do believe in Jesus, God and the Holy
Spirit, and the Bible.The Bible proves itself
through Prophecy. What he wrote may contain Some
vestiges of truth. But the Word Of God is truth.
Jesus said so! Is He a liar?

Anything God says to me, I’ll believe that! As for what Jesus said… well, you know he wasn’t talking about the Bible because the Bible didn’t even exist yet. None of the New Testament was written until a generation after the crucifixion and the Bible itself wasn’t put together until the council of Nicea in 325 AD, hundreds of years after the death of Jesus. By the way, each book was voted in or out of the Bible by anonymous ballot:Some books barely made it in – some were just barely excluded. Not a very divine process if you ask me.

You failed to notice in your study of the Ten
Commandments,that I AM gave them. I AM is Jehova
God. He is the source of all law. Not people!
Not even Christians. Without I AM there is no LAW.
Morality has to do with doing what is “right in
the sight of God”

No but perhaps I failed to MENTION that some 2nd century guys wrote some stuff on papyrus saying that God said this and that. Lots of stuff gets written in lots of books.

The point of this post was that the authors of the US Constitution did not consider the Ten Commandments as a source of law at all. God is not mentioned in the Constitution and we know that some of the authors were rather rabidly anti-Christian so you’re still barking up the wrong tree here.

Just want to suggest a correction. Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t believe in the Bible Sabbath. They have ‘church’ on Sundays like most denominations do. I know this because I’ve been tracking their teachings and had discussions with them for many years. Hope this is okay.

Point taken. It’s been a few decades since I took the course on heresy, and I probably confused the JWs with some other outsider group. –cp
