Rainbow with Flooded fields, a photography-based abstract envisioned on 30×30 gallery wrapped canvas. From the happenstance of a great flood in this area and its aftermath, the recorded image was completely repainted in Corel Painter to achieve this effect.
I was never completely satisfied with this work but it has its own interesting points: The rainbow was the brightest object in a mist-dimmed sky so in this reduced palette it now commands special attention. The flooded fields reflect the images of the surviving landscape and in a way stand as a better piece without the rainbow. Nevertheless, the rainbow demands to be seen and heard.Tags: Abstract, Art
