Painting was inspired by a bike road trip, things weren’t going all that pleasantly. I realized that life is exactly like this: There is a lot of underlying misery, but most choose to turn a blind eye to it.

It’s true in an inscrutable, Zen kind of way: When nothing makes sense, then life seems a hopeless managerie of confusion. When NOTHINGNESS makes sense, then all is at peace.
