Abstract Painting: Objective 96″ x 84″
Abstract Expressionism is not dead, here objects are given their own voice and place on the canvas. Found objects express themselves. Stain painting as well as figurative and word art combined with object-oriented and shape-driven fields…. From my current work on larger surfaces, this paintings was a hit at my recent one-artist show.
Objective
Acrylic on unstretched canvas
96″x84″
By utilizing non-traditional painting tools such as found objects, I try to let these items speak for themselves through paint. This is just one way in which I have chosen to diverge from the ‘normal’ way of doing things. Be sure to look around my site to find out more….
Work like this takes quite a bit of time to complete, not counting the initial conception and envisioneering stages. It also requires good weather as I must work outdoors. Letting the objects used as painting instruments speak through the cavas is no simple task and requires first thinking and then unthinking the concept, letting the naturally formed shapes create a flow of their own.
Thank you to all who requested that this work be placed on the web.
