Abstract Art It’s Summer
Well, soon the weather will be good enough for me to paint outdoors, as I must do to create my larger abstracts. I admit I’m getting antsy. I want to get going! I have so many ideas during the winter and I’m afraid I’ll forget them all before I can actually implement them. In the meantime, here is a smaller work, celebrating Summer:

I love the color even though I’ve been giving serious consideration to going back to black and white abstract representations. In any case, I’m also looking for new corporate and small business locations for my work. So if you have a business, why not join Ernst & Young, and Mount Gay Distillery to become an investor or displayer of Pagani abstracts?
BTW… For those looking for representational art, particularly paintings of Oregon scenery, have a look at the Oregon painting selection at the Roadside Artist Gallery. That’s the best place for that other kind of art.
And let’s hope for some prolonged good weather soon.
Frosty, The Feral Kitten Who Almost Wasn’t Here
I have a life other than in the studio: One of the things I do is rescuing feral kittens. I can’t help it. I try to save feral cats too. I feel sorry for them.
This one was in such bad shape that it almost got buried.
Feeding one morning I saw this lifeless little tabby kitten. It couldn’t have been more than 7 weeks old or so. Feral kittens have such a short life expectancy but I never get used to seeing the dead ones.
I picked up the little body and placed it on a paving stone; set aside while I finished feeding so that I could bury it later on.
When finished feeding, I returned and picked up the little corpse, intending to give the poor thing a decent burial. As I picked it up, I thought I saw a little movement of the mouth. Not much…probably my imagination. But then again…
Just to be safe, I took the little thing into my studio, dried it off and wrapped it in warm towels. A few hours later, it began to stir….

The nearly-buried kitten got the name Frosty. Frosty the feral kitten almost wasn’t here. It was only luck and a little compassion.
I hope Frosty can have a home of his own! Feral cats have short, miserable lives for the most part unless they have humans caring for them. There is no point in leaving them in that state.
Some of my other rescues are documented here and here.
UPDATE:
Frosty has a new home! I hope you have a happy life, Frosty. We’re just glad you are still with us.

Outcast Artist’s Have Birthdays??
Yes, it is true. I refuse to beg, however. I will simply note that July 12 is my birthday. I don’t actually remember it; I was pretty young at the time. It’s just another day.
It is a happy day for a few who are close to me.
It is perhaps a despised day for the haters out there who wish I was never born. Am I officially the most hated person in Tillamook county?
The world wonders.
But for those who care/want to be nice/ have pity/ etc….

Let’s not forget art supplies, though! Especially if you are a devotee of Pagani art. And who isn’t? Nevermind… just check out my the Pagani Dick Blick art supplies wish list, and make someone happy today.
In any case, I’m just glad to be here… I think.
