Solomon said “All is vanity.” (Ecc 1.2) and the Buddha said, “All conditioned things are impermanent.” But it’s a hard lesson to learn that everything we love will slip away from us. The more we cling, the more it slips through our fingers. The dissolving trees remind us of this.
